What is a short haul move? This is a move that is less than 450 miles. Make sure to inquire with your moving company as you may have to pay long distance charges even for short haul moves.
What is a local move? This usually refers to moves that are less than 100 miles and within the same state.
What is an intrastate move? This refers to a move of more than 100 miles within the same state.
What is an international move? This is a move where your items must cross an international boundary, regardless of actual distance.
Should I store items that won’t fit in my new home? You can choose to store items that won’t fit. However, if you have items that are old or have little value, you may be better to sell or donate them instead of paying the high cost of storing them for a long period.
Should I disassemble my furniture before the move? You can do this if you have time, but it’s not required. If your movers need to dismantle any furniture, they will reassemble it in your new home.
What should I do with my plants? We recommend that you move your plants yourself as they can suffer from a lack of light and water and temperature extremes in the truck. Please note that some countries will not allow the import of plants or other agricultural items if you’re planning an overseas move.
Why do movers place shipments from more than one household on a trailer during long distance moves? This is much more efficient and allows the moving company to lower their costs. Direct shipments are usually available, but they will cost you more.

How long will it take me to move? Your actual move will depend on many factors including the weather conditions, size of your shipment, time of year, distance to your destination and time required for loading and unloading.
What is overflow? ?Movers may have to leave some of your belongings behind if there is insufficient space in the moving van or truck. If this is the case, make sure to leave the least essential items for the next truck that will be heading to your area. ?
How are fees calculated for interstate moves? Your moving company may charge you a set fee which depends on the inventory of your items and delivery timeframe. They may also charge you based on the weight or volume of your items.
What is valuation insurance? Valuation insurance covers you for any damage that occurs to your belongings while they are in transit or stored in another vehicle.
